Your first step may be locating an ocular oncologist; there is a list on this site. There are several members of the forum from Australia, and hopefully they will give you some suggestions. Best wishes to you and your mother.

Your right Mark, the local anesthetic is the most uncomfortable part.  You then allow some time for the eye to numb then it's simply sitting with your head in the frame like when the dr looks into your eye.  My dr took over from there…

I have not had the TTT laser, myself, but have heard from others that the process takes about 20 minutes and you can feel a burning sensation.  I don't know about the recovery.  Someone said you have to keep very still during the…

Thanks Kylie & Nelia. Can you tell me more about the procedure itself? I understand they give local anesthesia to the eye and then shoot it with the laser. Sounds like the local may be the worst part of it. Any discomfort otherwise..? I'm…

Mark, I'm so sorry to hear that there has been growth with your tumor.  I had the TTT laser last year and I really can't say it did a lot for me.  Giving your circumstances it maybe a necessity to prevent the tumor from spreading…

Thank you David.  I hope the shots will be a last resort!  I was a little naive thinking  after all the treatment everything will be all over and done with!

Kylie or anyone else, can you give me details on the TTT treatement?  I had radiation placque therapy in March 2009 but now have some new growth in the tumor that docs think can be managed with the laser.   My opthamologist At MDA…

Hi Kylie- I had a series of Avastin shots and the pain went away.  My doctor said the fluid build up would eventually go away and the pain would go away without the shots.  It's worth asking about. -David

Hi Kylie! Plan B might include some Avastin shots.  Is the fluid sub-retinal, or on top of the retina?  Just in the last 3 months, I had fluid under my entire central vision.  Just 2 shots of Avastin took care of it.  Some people…
